Looking for other ways to support the League and Alexandria's homeless animals? The Vola Lawson Animal Shelter is always in  need of supplies and materials.Providing shelter, care, and enrichment for thousands of animals every year is no easy task, but donations of items from our Shelter Wish List help us meet every animal's needs.

Please be aware that all of our dog and cat food is provided to us through our partnership with Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc. Specific food items, such as grain-free food and treats, can be donated but the majority of our animal's food is already provided by Hill's.

Foster Care Items

Baby Shower_300Join us at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter for the AWLA Baby Shower on Saturday, April 6. From 12 PM to 4 PM, we will be holding an open house and collecting items from our Foster Care Wish List. Guests will learn more about the League's foster care program and how to get involved, and meet current foster care parents. There will also be raffle prizes, games, and light refreshments.

As we enter kitten and puppy season, the doors of the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter will be open to the unplanned and unwanted litters that inevitably show up on our doorstep each spring. Many of these animals are too small to be adopted and they will enter the foster care program, where they will receive love and nurturing.

The items on our Foster Care Wish List help us start every kitten and puppy out on the right paw, and prepare them for adoption and beyond. Learn more about the AWLA Baby Shower.
