The 2014 Contest

Mark your calendars!  Registration for the 2014 Pet Photo Calendar Contest will open on June 1, 2013.  Our Grand Prize includes a professional pet portrait seesion, a photo from which will be featured as the cover of our 2014 calendar.

Every year, the AWLA welcomes all pet owners and pet lovers to participate in this fun and meaningful outreach activity. Through our calendar, the AWLA gives pet owners a forum to highlight their best friends’ endearing moments, while also raising awareness and support for the thousands of companion animals who do not yet have a home and are cared for by the AWLA.

Last year, more than 80 pets competed for the coveted prize. Thanks to the support of our participants, sponsors, and retail partners, the contest and the sale of the 2013 calendar raised more than $45,000.  These critical funds help to care for the homeless animals at the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter.

How Can I Enter My Pet in the Contest?

Online registration for the 2014 Contest will begin on June 1, 2013. Check back for more updates or join our email list to receive information about the Calendar Contest and all League events.

Registration is $30 per photo, and includes a copy of our 2014 calendar. Participants will gain access to online fundraising tools where they can upload a photo and email their friends and family encouraging them to vote or join the contest.

What You Could Win

Grand Prize: A professional pet portrait session, and your pet on the cover of our 2014 calendar

First Prize: Eight first prize winners will receive full-page monthly placement within the calendar

Second Prize: Four second prize winners will receive half-page monthly placement within the calendar.

Third Prize: Sixteen third prize winners will receive “above the fold” monthly placement (approximately 1/8 of a page).

ALL participants will be featured in the 2014 calendar.

Prizes will be awarded based on fundraising total. Grand prize will be awarded to the participant who places first. First prize will be awarded to participants placing 2-9. Second prize will be award to participants placing 10-13. Third prize will be awarded to participants placing 14-29.

Due to the limitations of our computer tabulating system, there can be up to a 15 minute delay between when a gift is received/recorded and when it is reflected in the leaderboard. All gifts received before 12:00PM EDT will be honored. The leaderboard results are not official. Winners will be notified by phone on or about July 31, 2013.
