Summer Camp

Summer Camp

Welcome to the world of animal sheltering, animal care, and local wildlife! For 2013, the AWLA once again offers summer camp for area youth to learn about the animals that live in our homes and our backyards. Campers will participate in a variety of animal-themed games, activities, and discussions.  Camp sessions will focus on:

  • Animal welfare and sheltering
  • Careers with animals
  • Local wildlife
  • Positive reinforcement training

And, of course, there will be plenty of hands-on interaction with a variety of different Animal Ambassadors at the shelter.

Rising 3rd through 8th grade students can register for sessions tailored for their age group and specific interest. Camp sessions run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and last for one week.

Registration for our 2013 summer camps is open now!

The AWLA offers two camps to choose from: Shelter Buddies and Dog Days of Summer. Click here for complete descriptions of each camp.

Available spots for campers are filled on a first come, first served basis. Click here to download the 2013 Summer Camp application. Please contact Lindsay Halgerson to be put on the camp waiting list!
